Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 is has been designed to serve as a business-oriented printer, scanner, copied and fax machine. 905 measures 12.1” tall, 18.31”wide and 15.42” long. It has
two 150-sheet bottom loading paper trays, taking the total capacity to 300 sheets of paper. This is a unique feature that placed Platinum 905 in an advantageous position vis-à-vis its competition.
The printer uses Lexmark’s latest Vizix individual ink cartridges, which consists of 1 pigment black for printing text and 3 dye-based yellow, cyan, and magenta ink cartridges for printing color material.
The control panel of Platinum Pro 905 is 9.5 inches wide and 4 large icons are displayed on the home screen. One of the icons is for “Smart Solutions” which brings one to a customizable menu for all the downloaded applications.
Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 is undoubtedly one of the fastest printers in its category and price range. It can print 7.33 pages per minute for text material and 3.27 pages per minute for color graphics. The print quality of Lexmark Platinum Pro 905 is absolutely clear and very close to laser quality.
The cost of printing with the Lexmark is quite cheap, the cost works out to be 1 cent for a black page and 3 cents for each color page. Business users will find this very compelling, especially if they have a large printing requirement for black text and graphics. Moreover, 905 can print up to 5,000 prints per month, which is also quite unique.
In order to conserve paper, the Lexmark 905 comes with minimal documentation, but instructions and warranty information can be accessed on the CD included with the printer. Lifetime priority phone support from Lexmark and a 5-year warranty are also included.
HP Photosmart C4780 Printer Review October 12, 2009 No Comments
The Photosmart C4780 at an RRP $99 offers amazing value and perks. It is the little things in office equipments that really makes the difference and HP Photosmart C4780 is indeed a printer that seperates itself from the rest. Connectivity is about the best there is, which includes Wi-Fi and USB, plus two media slots for MS, SD, and xD cards.
The 1.45-inch color touchscreen is a breeze to operate. HP‘s onscreen Solution Center software scores yet again with users. It centralizes printer settings, print status, and other utilities. The “Help” function offers much more useful support information and a cheerful twist which includes animation sets it apart from the drudgery of other office equipments.
The print speed is decent at 7.6 pages per minute for plain-text pages. The text tends to be dark charcoal rather than pure jet black, but appears exceptionally crisp, even in cursive, ornate fonts. For a printer that claims to be photosmart, scan speeds were disappointingly slow. Fair enough though, the images were extremely accurate, with tip-top precise lines.
The Photosmart C4780’s paper handling is adequate for light use, but the design can be improved. It has a very bulky and hollow design, instead of the sleek compact look other companies are churning out by the dozen. The tray drop and plastic extension is sturdy enough for a decent stack of paper. Disappointingly, automatic duplexing is not available. If you are patient enough, the driver will teach you step-by-step manually. In our automated world, that might not be a good enough option.
If a wireless, easy to use and crisp imaging printer is what you seek, the HP Photosmart C4780 Printer might be just the one for you.

An Inkjet printer thats cheaper to run than a Laser printer April 27, 2009 No Comments
We always get asked at Speedy ink what is the best value printer to purchase. As we are not printer experts we can certainly tell them from our ink and toner sales which offer the best value from upfront printer cost verses the cost to replace the cartridge. Our pick at the moment is any HP printer that uses the 88xl range of inkjet cartridges. This range of inkjet printers has amazing print quality and great value. We would even consider it just as good as a colour laser printer. From the larger black cartridge you will be able to print up to 2450 pages* for around $59 ( HP 88 C9396A). For similar laser printers the toner would cost between $150 to $200. So if your after a great black and colour printer you should consider buying any of the models that use these inkjet cartridges.

Hello Fellow Aussie printers! April 13, 2009 No Comments
Welcome to the first blog here at Speedyink! For years now we have been selling ink and toner to customers all over Australia. The one thing I’ve noticed is some people will only buy original ink and toners and other customers swear by the compatible ink and toners. Whats the difference you may ask? Maybe you believe that compatibles may harm your printer (as the big printer brands want you to believe) while others enjoy the great savings. The facts are compatible inks and toner don’t harm your printer nor will they void your warranty. I read recently that last year in the US people over paid $4.5 billion dollars on ink and toner. $4.5 billion!! What!! At speedyink we sell the Print Rite brand of compatible ink and toner. The money you can save is great. And in these tough times why not save some money on ink and toner. Further more we will give you a refund if you not happy.
Speedy
